A Story Of The Tell Tale Heart

A Story Of The Tell Tale Heart Everyone cherishes a decent story! We have been recounted stories since a youthful age; additionally as we grow up; we keep on being encircled by them. In any case, what makes a decent and intriguing story? For me so as to respond to this inquiry, I have picked three short stories to assess them, which are The Tell Tale Heart, The Monkeys Paw and The Landlady. The fundamental elements of the three stories referenced above are the class, characters and the setting. The class of the story doesnt must be extremely refined, yet it should educate us concerning the point of the story, for example, is the story expected to make us giggle or cry? The Tell Tale Heart: The Tell Tale Heart is a short story is composed by Edger Allan Poe in 1843. The fascinating piece of the story is the blame of a maniac who hears the core of the elderly person he has murdered despite everything beating. In spite of the fact that the perusers are given an uncommon knowledge into the brain of a lunatic, yet what is exceptionally of intrigue is that this crazy person is in evident forswearing of his craziness and he acts like a kid who has accomplished something incorrectly and realizes that the perusers know it. Truth be told it is inside the initial two sentences of the story that the storyteller feels he should persuade to the perusers of his mental stability yet not frenzy Very awfully apprehensive I had been and am; however what will you say that I am frantic. Another fascinating point was made by the creator the manner by which the storyteller talks change quickly. At the point when the storyteller initially guards his mental soundness, he appears to be quiet, loose, and even astute. Afterwards like the above section he is by all accounts meandering aimlessly like a crazed crazy person. It is the point at which he is quiet in his way of discourse, which he is in his most profound condition of a forswearing, to the time where he nearly persuaded of his mental stability. It is fascinating to note alongside the undeniable certainty that it is difficult to hear everything in the paradise and earth, the imagery that can be found in his discourse I heard numerous things in hellfire. This announcement is the storytellers subliminal. After the storyteller submitted the homicide of the elderly person, he began talking about the safety measures he took; precautionary measures that he accepted just a rational man could have taken. Where things truly get fascinating is the point at which the storyteller jumps in to murder the elderly person. He screamed once-just a single time. The shout of the elderly person something that could without much of a stretch be discernible to the neighbors causes the storyteller no nervousness. Truth be told the storyteller very quickly moves its consideration back to the heart. He hears the old keeps an eye on heart thumping irately, alarmed for his life. It is anyway not the old keeps an eye on heart which the storyteller is hearing yet it is his own heart. The creator accomplishes something shrewd in the above part, he further depicts the storytellers twisted feeling of reality by portraying the feeling of uneasiness that the storyteller gets from the commotion of the old keeps an eye on heart, expecting that it will wake the neighbors. The best imagery between a heart, the storytellers very hearing and a soul comes toward the finish of the story. Where the storyteller figures out how to persuade the cops that there is nothing dubious at the house except for then the heart becomes possibly the most important factor by and by. Obviously the storyteller isn't hearing a genuine commotion, however is experiencing the indications of his rankled mind. Scalawags! I avoided, mask no more! I concede the deed!tear up the planks!here, here!it is the thumping of his ghastly heart. The storytellers craziness parts with him to the police, he cannot bear it any more and he shouts out his liable admission. Through the appearance of the storytellers frenzy, Poe depicts the keeps an eye on awareness as the pulsating of his heart. Generally the storyteller is hearing his very own physical portrayal blame. The entrancing, however tangled, perspective through which the story is depicted is astonishingly never really point where Poe has his perusers looking over the frenzy to isolate what is really going on, from how the storyteller sees things are going on. Poe utilizes imagery and perspective as his most noteworthy resources, and expertly depicts the request to franticness. In its virtuoso effortlessness, Poe utilizes the storytellers nonstop disavowal to persuade the peruser of his undoubted madness. The Monkeys Paw: The Monkeys Paw is a short story is composed by W. W. Jacobs. The fascinating piece of the story starts when disaster strikes the White Family, when Sergeant Major Morris brings a Monkeys Paw into their lives which is said to concede three wishes. This story had three principle parts. These parts were the primary wish, the main wish allowed and the second and the third wishes. The manner in which writer has utilized day, night and the climate toward the start of the story promptly catches the perusers enthusiasm by clarify that it is a terrible day with nothing to look forward, when he says the night was cold and wet in the little parlor of laburnum villa㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦. Most of the storys scenes occur around evening time, leaving just a couple of scenes in sunshine. During the night, the climate is rarely charming and frequently agitating, however during the day the climate is nice. The writer deliberately sets the intense scenes during the evening time leaving the peruser to anticipate that something terrible should occur. The scenes that occur during the day are not as frightening and don't have a similar impact as those around evening time. The writers principle explanation behind setting these scenes around evening time is to focus on the perusers fears. For instance, the scene where Mr. White wishes for his child to return to life is set around eveni ng time to make it dreadful and sensational. At the point when their desire worked out as expected, it was a blustery night. There was overwhelming precipitation, lightning storm. On the off chance that it had been set in the light it would not have had a similar impact. The setting had been in no place it gives a sentiment of disconnection from human advancement, and furthermore when it around evening time it sets up the desire that something could turn out badly and along these lines assists with building tension. This improves the story and intriguing. Jacobs has made this story intriguing in light of the fact that the peruser consideration got brought into by tuning in to Sergeant Major Morris goes in India and the strange story of The Monkeys Paw Well, its a tad of what you may call enchantment, maybe as the Sergeant Major said. Jacobs makes the story significantly progressively fascinating by the manner in which the Sergeant Major enlightens the story regarding The Monkeys Paw yet then goes on to being held about it. Another fascinating part is that all the past proprietors of The Monkeys Paw stay obscure, and the main thing that is uncovered is that something unpleasant transpired. The Sergeant Major just referenced around one of them, as he discussed his desires I dont realize what the initial two were, however the third was for death. The three wishes are additionally separated perfectly, so the occasions in the story can happen the manner in which they do. The primary wishs horrendous outcomes are sufficient to make increasingly pressure in the plot, however leave enough wishes for there to be any desire for fixing it. The subsequent wish serves to confound the plot further, yet leaves the third wish as a choice to fix it. The creator adds profundity and greater energy to the story by infusing tension and secret at pretty much every turn. From the earliest starting point, he utilizes fairly obscure discourse and fascinating character responses to make pressure. For instance when Mr. White examined the Sergeant Major regarding The Monkeys Paw, he answered Leastways, nothing worth hearing. This shows the Sergeant Major Morris uneasiness while discussing The Monkeys Paw attracts the peruser and keeps them snared. The crowd can comprehend the awkward history encompassing the peculiar charm. This pressure exponentially has expanded when Morris out of nowhere tossed The Monkeys Paw at the fire and he said Better let it consume. As of now, the military keeps an eye on obvious dread and scorn of The Monkeys Paw uncover themselves. The whole peak of the story additionally transmits beat beating anticipation. The writer controls the perusers point of view and enthusiasm through the story by different techniques also. The past proprietors of The Monkeys Paw are an extraordinary case of incongruity. Something awful transpired, when the Sergeant Major uncovers. This makes a frightful picture to the perusers mind and the peruser is searching for something like happen to the Whites family. Despite the fact that the Whites anticipated that their supernatural cash should come tumbling from the sky, when Herbert said Might drop on his head from the sky. At second and third pieces of the story the perusers consideration centers around Mr. what's more, Mrs. White, and not the occasions that occur outside their home. The peruser never truly perceives how the desire on the paw caused their children deadly mishap, or whether he was breathed life into back. It could all be an occurrence but since of the point of view the peruser is compelled to take, the story appears to be more evil and incredible than it may have something else. This impact is utilized to its fullest degree when the lost child is obviously breathed life into back. The thumping on the entryway was accepted to be him, despite the fact that Mr. White didnt accept to be him, as he said to his better half For Gods purpose, dont let it in, however the last wish was made before the entryway was opened. Its conceivable that he was never there, regardless of what the characters in the story accept. The creator never truly uncover what was the last wish however one can accept that he wished he had never made his subsequent wish. The finish of the story is open and leaves us to think of our very own finish. End: the writer has figured out how to utilize a decent association between each piece of the story, which catches the perusers fascinating by clarifying how the Whites in the start of the story are content, yet distrustful of the otherworldly properties of The Monkeys Paw. Through the occasions of the story, their reality has flipped around, and at long last they are wrestling on the floor for control of similar Monkeys Paw. Their past satisfaction is changed over to depression and distress in only ten days. The Landlady:

Be that as it may, these are non-sustainable in nature. What will occur after state 50 years when the coal gets depleted? So we have to locate an elective method of extricating vitality. In India around 80% of the power is got from steam turbines run by coal. With genuine concern comprehensively and in India on the utilization of petroleum derivatives, it is significant for India to begin utilizing sustainable power sources. India is the seventh biggest nation on the planet spreading over 328 million hectares and adequately presented with inexhaustible wellsprings of vitality. In this paper let us see ï‚ · The different sorts of sustainable power source techniques present in India. ï‚ · Limitations with the present framework. ï‚ · Possible development. Our principle center in this paper will be sun based vitality. We would likewise observe other significant players in this field, yet we will see the itemized investigation of sun oriented vitality extraction and development. Page | 2 Wind Energy The improvement of wind power in India started during the 1990s, and has fundamentally expanded over the most recent couple of years. Wind force can be used for drawing water, which is a basic necessity in watering horticultural grounds in the rustic regions. Furthermore, it very well may be used for power age. Albeit a relative newcomer to the breeze business contrasted and Denmark or the US, household arrangement support for wind power has driven India to turn into the nation with the fifth biggest introduced wind power limit on the planet. As of December 2010 the introduced limit of wind power in India was 13,065.37 MW, mostly spread over: 1. Tamil Nadu (4132.72 MW) 2. Maharashtra (1837.85 MW) 3. Karnataka (1184.45 MW) 4. Rajasthan (670.97 MW) 5. Gujarat (1432.71 MW) 6. Andhra Pradesh (122.45 MW) 7. Madhya Pradesh (187.69 MW) 8. Kerala (23.00 MW) 9. West Bengal (1.10 MW) 10. Different states (3.20 MW) It is evaluated that 6,000 MW of extra wind power limit will be introduced in India by 2012. Wind power represents 6% of India’s all out introduced power limit, and it produces 1.6% of the country’s power. Page | 3 The significant disadvantages of this force framework are as per the following: ï‚ · Electricity creation relies upon wind speed, area, season and air temperature. Subsequently different observing frameworks are required and may cost costly. ï‚ · High level of the equipment cost (for huge WT) is for the most part spent on the pinnacle intended to help the turbine ï‚ · The all out expense can be less expensive than close planetary system yet more costly than hydro. The state and focal governments are giving different appropriations and have thought of new arrangements to upgrade the breeze power age in India. Wind turbines are expanding, efficiencies and availabilities are improving and wind ranch idea is getting famous. It could be joined with sun based, particularly for an all out self-supportability venture. The financial aspects of wind vitality is as of now solid, regardless of the overall adolescence of the business. The descending pattern in wind vitality costs is anticipated to proceed. As the world market in wind turbines keeps on blasting, wind turbine costs will keep on falling. Page | 4 Biomass Energy Among the sustainable power sources, biomass assumes a fundamental job particularly in country territories, as it comprises the significant vitality source to lion's share of family units in India. Biomass vitality is the use of natural issue introduce and can be used for different applications. ï‚ · Biomass can be utilized to create warmth and power, or utilized in joined warmth and force (CHP) plants. ï‚ · Biomass can likewise be utilized in blend with petroleum derivatives (co-terminating) to improve effectiveness and diminish the development of ignition buildups. ï‚ · Biomass can likewise trade oil as a hotspot for transportation energizes. Late improvements in India: ï‚ · India delivers around 450-500 million tons of biomass for each year, which is 32% of all the essential vitality use in the nation at present. ï‚ · The present portion of biofuels in complete fuel utilization is very low and is limited principally to 5% mixing of ethanol in gas, which the administration has made obligatory in 10 states. Biomass vitality can assume a significant job in diminishing India’s dependence on fossilâ fuels by utilizing thermo-substance transformation advances. Furthermore, the expanded use of biomass-based powers will be instrumental in defending the earth, making new position openings, reasonable turn of events and wellbeing enhancements in rustic territories. The combination of biomass-fuelled gasifies and coal-terminated vitality age would be invaluable as far as improved adaptability because of variances in biomass accessibility with lower speculation costs. Page | 5 Sun oriented Energy Sun oriented vitality is beginning for all types of vitality. This vitality can be utilized in two different ways the Thermal course for example utilizing heat for drying, warming, cooking or age of power or through the Photovoltaic course which changes over sun based vitality in to power that can be utilized for a heap purposes, for example, lighting, siphoning and age of power. With its contamination free nature, basically boundless gracefully and worldwide dispersion sun oriented vitality is appealing vitality asset. There are two alternate points of view in using sunlight based vitality: 1. Sun based for network associated power: Matrix intuitive sun oriented vitality is gotten from sun oriented photovoltaic cells and CSP Plants for a huge scope. The lattice association is picked because of following reasons: ï‚ · Sun powered Energy is accessible for the duration of the day which is the pinnacle load request time ï‚ · Sunlight based vitality change gear have longer life and need lesser support and thus give higher vitality foundation security ï‚ · Low running expenses and framework tie-up capital returns (Net Metering) ï‚ · Not at all like regular warm force age from coal, they don't cause contamination and produce clean force. ï‚ · Bounty of free sunlight based vitality all through all pieces of world (albeit bit by bit diminishing from central, tropical, sub-tropical and polar locales). Can be used all over. 2. Sunlight based for off-matrix arrangements: While, the territories with simpler matrix get to are using lattice availability, the spots where utility force is inadequate or too costly to even think about bringing, must choose the option to decide on Page | 6 their own age. They produce power from a various scope of little neighborhood generators utilizing both petroleum products (diesel, gas) and locally accessible sustainable power source advancements (sun based PV, twist, little hydro, biomass, and so forth.) with or without its own stockpiling (batteries). This is known as off-network power. Remote force frameworks are introduced for the accompanying reasons: ï‚ · Want to utilize sustainable †earth safe, contamination free. ï‚ · Joining different producing choices accessible cross breed power age. ï‚ · Want for freedom from the inconsistent, issue inclined and interfered with network association. ï‚ · Accessible capacity and back-up choices. ï‚ · No overhead wires-no transmission misfortune. ï‚ · Shifted applications and items: Lighting, Communication Systems, Cooking, Heating, Pumping, Small scope industry usage and so forth. The advancements present in collecting sun based force are: 1. Sunlight based photovoltaic: Sunlight based photovoltaic (SPV) cells convert sun based radiationâ (sunlight) into power. A sun based cell is a semi-directing gadget made of silicon as well as different materials, which, when presented to daylight, produces power. Sun oriented cells are associated in arrangement and equal blends to frame modules that give the necessary force. These are the diverse sunlight based cells utilized: ï‚ · Crystalline Silicon sun based cells (C-Si): Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline. ï‚ · Thin-film sunlight based cells: Amorphous Silicon Solar cells (A-Si), CIGS, CdTe. PV modules are made by collecting the sunlight based cells subsequent to hanging, selecting and giving different interconnections. Page | 7 2. Sun powered warm: Sun oriented Thermal Power frameworks, otherwise called Concentrating Solar Power frameworks, utilize concentrated sun powered radiation as a high temperature vitality source to deliver power utilizing warm course. High temperature sun powered vitality gatherers are fundamentally of three kinds: ï‚ · Parabolic trough framework: at the recipient can arrive at 400â ° C and produce steam for creating power. ï‚ · Power tower framework: The reflected beams of the sun are constantly focused on the beneficiary, where temperatures well above 1000â ° C can be reached. ï‚ · Parabolic dish frameworks: Parabolic dish frameworks can arrive at 1000â ° C at the beneficiary, and accomplish the most noteworthy efficiencies for changing over sunlight based vitality to power. This is the following huge jump in the vitality part, however this also has its own confinements, for example, ï‚ · Initial cost engaged with setting up the plant is high. Likewise a gigantic measure of room is required. ï‚ · Proper daylight is required for these frameworks to work adequately and productively. ï‚ · On an overcast day or duri

The Story Of Matthijs - 900 Words

Matthijs made Kyle stand and stripped off his remaining clothes, before gently placing Kyle’s chest atop of the bar stool. This positioned Kyle’s hungry hole directly in front of Matthijs’ dick shaft, while Kyle’s lips nursed once again upon Lars’s cockhead. Newly, realigned to nibble on Lars’s cock; Kyle heard Lars speak, â€Å"You like being a pig bottom? Do you want my Dutch protein?† Obediently, Kyle nodded yes as he gripped tighter and picked up the pace. Lars started making whimpering noises as he repeated, â€Å"Fuck.† Kyle knew Lars was on the brink. â€Å"Lars, stop be selfish. Now it’s my turn to join in,† spoke Matthijs. Kyle’s eyes rolled back as Matthijs’ raw spit-lube cock slid into his asshole. Between swallowing Lars’s dick and†¦show more content†¦As they hugged each other, Kyle had redressed and started down the private spiral staircase into the Spa, itself. Having just been pig-roasted by these two hot Dutch studs, Kyle was getting hornier by the minute as he walked by the Men’s Sauna. Kyle was no stronger to bathhouse antics, and just the scent of Nordic Spruce made Kyle’s dick start to bulge. What the fuck? thought Kyle. Kyle faced the Men’s Steam Room glass door, which had a muscle bound figure pressed against the glass. Dripping in sweat and in the darkness of the light, unrecognizable. It couldn’t be? But, I’ve seen that tattoo before, pondered Kyle in disbelief. Years ago while on a drunken binge, Brendan had a Celtic four-pointed knot tattoo inked below is navel and just above his pubes. Brendan’s muscular chest, torso and thighs adhered to the glass door, while someone from behind was unmistakably either rimming or fucking that bubble butt of his. This action caused Brendan’s impressive cockhead to mushroom upon the glass. Unexpectedly, Brendan’s dickhead burst white globs of cum. This combined with his sweat and the steam, started trickling down the glass door. Glued to the glass, Brendan’s jawbone moaned in silence. This sexcapade made Kyle horny by the second. Fuck, Kyle’s dick was ready to pop a load himself. I just knew it! pondered Kyle. Instead of dashing out of the Spa facility, Kyle located the nearest Men’s Room. Whether looking close up in social communities, or looking at it as a global impact, coffee proved to have a very large and beneficial influence on how people lived their lives throughout history. Socially, coffee has changed history in very positive ways. In the Ottoman dynasty, people flock to these coffee shops and basically live on coffee as it has become a new daily routine for them as it has appeared in towns (Document 3). People gather at these shops, talk, conduct business, and to be social, thus spreading new ideas and news faster through the city. Coffee has also brought many jobs to the people (Documents 5, 7, and 8). Document 5 shows all the people that coffee must go to, to get to their drinkers and shops, all the people who are involved in this process were given jobs because of coffee. The details of the jobs were shown through how the people were effected by them (Documents 7 and 8). The did effect the people in positive ways because the workers were able to all get fair and equal pay for the job without any social discrimination. Finally, the social bonuses of coffee are shown, while being biast, stating that coffee is a ready and east source of money, showing that you could benefit from it because of the high value of coffee (Document 10). A document that would help better prove the point to show that coffee changed the society in a positive way would be a document by a ruler stating all the positive effects and all the accomplishments the dynasty has made because of coffee. Coffee proved to be a very beneficial factor in society through popularity, jobs, and money made from it and would help you if you were involved with it. Coffee also showed up in worldly affairs, positively changing things such as relationships and trading between countries. Document 1 can not only be used as a social plus, but can also be seen as a worldly plus. This Document shows us the world’s views and first reactions to coffee, which turned out to be very good. Everyone loved it and it’s popularity exploded worldwide. Document 3 can also be used in both situations because it shows how people still reacted to coffee 145 years after it first appeared and people still seemed to be addicted. This Document could be seen as biast in one way such as it says that without contradiction, the drink has formed the workers’ breakfast, some workers still may not be able to reach shops that sell coffee or may not be able to afford it. Different country’s views on the actual total consumption and exports were also shown in Document 4 and Document 9. Annual consumption (Document 4), was shown in 50 different countries ranging from 0. 1 kilograms per person in Kenya, to 9. 2 kilograms per person in the Netherlands. The countries total exports (Document 9), had 19 countries included, ranging from Brazil with 7. % coffee exports to Uganda with 94. 5% coffee exports. Another Document that could be added to help support the positive effect that coffee had on the world would be a document written by different Kings scattered across the world about how much their kingdom has improved by the invention of coffee and how economy, and jobs, and the social aspect of life has gone u p. These documents were important to the world’s benefit from coffee because it showed that since the trade of coffee went up, economy went up, helping money fluxgate throughout the world. Although document 1 could be seen as a positive for both social and worldly benefits, it has yet another side, a negative for the communities. As more and more people began to become attracted to these coffee shops, they began to attend work and the temples less and less, creating the beginning of a problem for some people. Other than the problem of some people avoiding jobs in exchange for time spent drinking coffee, its impact was mainly positive. This document could also be biast because of if the people in that particular place actually have time and money for coffee, or if they enjoy their jobs, they wouldn’t be flocking to this tiny shop to socialize and to drink. If another document were to be added to this picket, it would need to be a document written by people in different jobs such as a priest, a coffee shop owner, a merchant, or a trader of coffee. The point of this document would be to better understand coffee’s effect on different jobs and really determine if the effect on the job changed the job holder’s take on coffee. This document would help really tell if the effects on the social aspect were beneficial according to the people, not just the overseers. From the beginning of when coffee first appeared, until now, there has been many coffee influences on history. The Meeting free essay sample

The room is silent other than the steady hum of the air conditioner. Businessmen and location supervisors all sit around a large rectangular table, waiting for the man in charge. There is a projector screen at the head of the table with an opening slide displayed. It reads â€Å"Monthly Safety meeting† in plain black text on a white background. A few of the men lean back in their chairs and relax. Two start a casual conversation. Even in the silence of the room I cannot understand them because they are mumbling so quietly. It’s an early Monday morning, and everyone is still a little drowsy from the weekend. Suddenly the big door in the back of the room whooshes open. A deep, carrying voice greets the room with a â€Å"Morning! † The men in the room all perked up and fixed their posture. The man who entered was Mike Guinn. He is the head engineer at Noble Energy. Mike had worked out in the field for many years before getting to where he is now. He knows how it works, and that is why it is his job to conduct the meeting. A few of the men greet him and shake his hand. The others have been here before and they know the drill. Mike has a cup of coffee in his hand that he finishes as he approaches the projector in the front. He sets his mug on the table and looks out at the others. By now they have settled back in their chairs and relaxed a bit. Mike is a man that likes to get right down to business. He quickly turns around and grabs the remote that controls the slide and advances it. â€Å"I’d like to do this as quickly as possible. † He says. He had told me beforehand that the meeting focused on some important information, but was one of the dullest parts of his job that he has to endure. The others in the room seem to know this, as the meeting seems to be done as more of a formality than anything else. Before starting he strikes up a conversation with a man who he appears to know very well. You can tell by their casual banter with a few of the others that, although is he is technically their superior, everyone in the room seems to treat Mike as more of a colleague. They talk about golf and professional sports, or how the weekend went. There is clear respect for his position and authority, but it seems that he wants to let them know that they are all a part of the bigger picture. Everyone is working together for the success of the Company. He starts the slideshow. The first few slides go through fairly fast. Mostly graphs and statistics of past performances with their company compared to others. He explains to them every graph and where they rank according to the competition. A few people are taking notes. I was very impressed with how they ranked. The Company seems to be doing very well. It is very clear that they strive to be better than the next closest competitor, and you can tell Mike takes a sense of pride in that. In every chart displayed, he focuses mostly on the good aspects of the information, but if there is an issue he makes that clear and asks the others what they can do to solve it. Most of the slides so far in the show have been very boring. No pictures, just a lot of text and graphs. The information is important to the businessmen in the room, because it is their job to keep the information in check. To the rest of them it seems that they are just trying to get through with it and on with their day. A slide comes up with just one chart on it. Not much text. Mike takes a pause at this one before speaking to let everyone take in the information. After a few seconds of silence he says â€Å"This chart shows our quarterly safety analysis from last quarter compared to this quarter. † Although I don’t understand much of the information, it is apparent that the current quarter is below last. Mike explains in a positive tone that the company did everything right out in the field to get all of the great results shown in previous slides, but they had a major accident a few weeks ago that caused this quarters to drop. A driver of one of their trucks pulled onto a busy highway in the night and caused an accident. A few people were hurt, but it was all resolved and taken care of. Aside from that accident Mike was very proud of how well everyone did and put a lot of emphasis on the good parts of the report. To let them know that he appreciates all of their hard work to keep everyone safe. He set up a date to host a barbeque out on a location so they can celebrate a good safe month, with the people who make it happen. The final part of the meeting consisted of what you would expect at a safety meeting, the routine standards that everyone hates discussing. At this point he dismissed the businessmen to go back to their jobs. The location supervisors stayed in the room. They are the people whose job it is to keep the crews out in the field safe. They are the ones that need to know proper procedure and how to react when an accident occurs. They keep the workers doing their jobs safely. This is where the meeting gets very boring. Everyone in the room had heard all of this information a hundred times. But because of the accident a few weeks ago, corporate is pushing safety even harder. Mike does his best to keep the information interesting. He relates what he can to things that the others have had to deal with before, by bringing up specific events that each supervisor has been through. Maybe an accident a few years back or some praise for being accident free. This helps them understand the information so if a similar accident occurs, they know what to do. To close the meeting, Mike congratulated everyone one final time on their exceptional performance. He dismissed everyone and started to close down his computer. One man stayed behind to talk to him. This was also the man Mike had started a conversation with at the beginning of the meeting. They appeared to be good friends. Maybe someone Mike had worked in the field with before. They talked for a few minutes about life and how things were going. By the end of the conversation the projector was all packed up and it was time to leave the room. While most men would just go in, do the meeting and get out, you could tell Mike was different. He had respect from everyone he worked with, and did his best to connect with everyone else on a personal, yet professional level. There is a good bond between him and his co-workers. They know that if there is a problem, he’s the one to talk to. He will do his best to get it done and get it done right. Although it was just a standard safety meeting, it showed me how putting just a little effort into your career can earn you respect from everyone you work with, and make your job a lot easier. Sitting in on that meeting really showed me a lot about one of the possible careers of my future. Mike love for his job gave me positive reassurance about my decision to become and engineer.
